A new and distinct design style for the Research and Enterprise team at SOAS

The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London is the world’s leading centre for the study of subjects associated with Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

“Our initial meeting with the Research and Enterprise team highlighted that SOAS had a very outdated and incomplete set of brand guidelines. For such a large organisation this meant that designs were having to be reinvented by different graphic designers, both in-house and external. By creating a distinct style for REO we would at least make sure that subsequent designs had a template to follow and could be created by either ourselves, or in-house.”

Like many higher education institutions, SOAS were looking to market their expertise to corporate and public sector organisations. Naked Creativity were approached to develop a logotype and distinct look and feel for the new Research and Enterprise Office (REO) at SOAS.

With a tight timescale before the launch event for REO, Naked Creativity were able to complete the graphic design of a popup display and source the print from a trusted supplier that could deliver on time.

“Naked Creativity produced a great new SOAS style for our enterprise event, and we continue to rely on their expertise.”

Tony Doherty, Director of Enterprise, SOAS

Since the launch of REO, Naked Creativity have been involved in other graphic design projects for SOAS, including the design of a bespoke folder for a key alumni event.

What we delivered

A distinct design style for the Research and Enterprise team at SOAS that would allow either Naked Creativity or the REO team to create subsequent graphics. This was well received by the client, with SOAS continuing to rely on Naked Creativity’s design input to create further marketing collateral.
