Complete Web and Graphic Design Support for Livery Company

The Grocers’ Company dates from 1180 as one of the ‘Great Twelve’ Livery Companies of London. Today it continues to have a thriving membership, is a charitable foundation, and offers Grocers’ Hall as a historic venue for events.

Naked Creativity started working with the Grocers’ Company in 2015. The team initially developed a new website for the Company, then followed with graphic design support. This included a brochure about Grocers’ Hall as a venue, as well as a comprehensive redesign of the Company’s graphic identity, bringing a focus to their coat of arms. Since 2017, Naked has designed and produced the Grocers’ Annual Review, managing print and fulfilment in the process.

Naked has just completed a second new website for the Grocers’. A major focus of this website was easy navigation to the three key elements of the Grocers’ Company: Charity, Membership and Venue Hire. The aim was for visitors to find information quickly and intuitively. Visually the site was designed to be clean, fresh and vibrant for maximum clarity; with an expanding full screen menu to help with navigation.

The new website supported the values of the Grocers’ by using beautiful photography and videos which were especially commissioned for the new website. These were used in large banner format and worked well in conveying visual messages.

As with the previous version of the website, the website was built on Naked’s own content management system,, which was designed for ease of use by non-technical users. This made content editing simple so the Grocers’ could update content themselves. uses the latest web-standards, which enables the website to work responsively across mobile and desktop devices of all sizes.

With membership being an important part of the Grocers’ Company, a Membership Area was necessary on the website, where members could log in to access information or update their membership details. The website used Naked’s own fully hosted members management platform, for this. The platform was customised to suit the Grocers’ unique needs; creating a Members Area with the same visual styling as the rest of the website.

The Grocers’ Company was already using Salesforce in its day-to-day business, so fully synchronised with Salesforce through APIs (Application Programming Interfaces). This meant that member data was fully accessible and accurate in both systems, for existing members and as new data was added. also allowed full control over which data fields could be synchronised to Salesforce.

Since 2015, Naked has enjoyed supporting the Grocers’ Company in all aspects of its digital and creative journey. The team has established a great relationship working as partners, allowing projects to be completed seamlessly, even in the tightest of time frames.
