Silfra Translations

Identity, stationery and website design

Silfra Translations provides translation services to the legal industry worldwide with a particular focus on Germany, the United Kingdom and the USA.

Silfra is named after the rift located in the Þingvellir National Park, Iceland, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Silfra rift is best known for its clear water which takes up to 100 years to filter through the volcanic rocks.

Naked Creativity worked closely with Silfra Translations to bring this concept of clarity to the new brand identity. Shades of blue and teal taken from images of the Silfra rift creates a gradient between two tones, detailing the abstracted visual of the rift itself which forms part of the final identity.

The logo concepts were presented on mock-ups to illustrate how the identity could be applied to stationery. Once the chosen logo was refined, it was applied to business cards, email signatures and document templates.

With the identity finalised, a single page scrolling website was suggested. Stock images of water and the Silfra rift were used to divide the key sections of text with the main menu automatically scrolling the user to the corresponding section when one of the links is clicked.

The website is fully responsive to give the best user experience on desktop and mobile devices, and the content is managed via the Naked Creativity content management system Cee.ms.

Naked Creativity were exactly what we were looking for, a small team of people that still covered all the bases for a new start-up like us; logo design, branding, website design and implementation. It was important to us to have all of our branding consistent across platforms.

The team at Naked Creativity were easy to work with and they provided great suggestions, working with our input to turn our vision into reality. We've received a number of compliments on our logo and website, they even set up the website so that we can easily edit it ourselves which we love.
