A new website design for IDC, leading to a 350% increase in visitors
Industrial Design Consultancy (IDC) are one of the largest and longest established product design consultancies in the UK. In addition to the main new product development business, IDC have a modelmaking and product prototyping unit – IDC Models; and an overseas office – IDC China.
Naked Creativity were tasked with completely overhauling the company’s online presence, which did not represent IDC’s position as an industry-leader.

The focus of the new website was on showcasing the wide variety of projects that IDC have worked on to date, across diverse sectors from medical design to fast moving consumer goods. As a result of continued optimisation of the website, consistent addition of new case studies and articles, and regular PR, IDC’s website now ranks reliably in search engines for a whole range of target keywords, and achieved a 350% increase in visitors year-on-year.
Upon completing the design and build of the new website, Naked Creativity were charged with rolling this design to IDC Models and IDC China.
The new IDC Models website features an online tool to provide instant quotes for stereolithography (SLA) parts, used for prototyping. The first in the UK, this tool allows potential customers to get a price straight away, and reduces the time staff spend responding to individual enquiries.
On an ongoing basis, IDC and Naked Creativity are partnered on the development of the LCA Calculator – a software-as-a-service (SAAS) tool for design engineers to assess the environmental impact of their products.

This lead to an increase in visitors of 350% year-on-year.
