A search engine optimised website design built on the Naked Creativity CMS
The Centre for Knowledge Transfer (CKT) at London South Bank University is a leading provider of Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) which offer grant funding, and access to university knowledge, to businesses looking to improve competitiveness and productivity.
After successfully working on a number of offline marketing projects for the Centre, including the graphic design of their annual review, Naked Creativity were asked to completely redevelop the Centre’s website. Among the objectives for the new website was to increase the number of visitors arriving at the site from search engines, and for all visitors to spend more time on the site exploring the wide range of LSBU KTP projects.
Naked Creativity designed the site so that when adding new projects through the Content Management System, they are tagged with the corresponding business sector, and other project-specific attributes. These attributes allow the website to display automated lists of sector case studies within pages, substantially reducing the workload for the website editors. This approach means that adding content to the website is no longer a chore, and new case studies are added on a much more regular basis.
Other innovations include an automatic PDF generator for each case study, which produces an elegantly formatted document based on the layout of the original web page. Again, this has reduced the administrative workload for the Centre.
By ensuring that the new website was optimised for search engines from the start, and adding new content on a regular basis, the Centre’s website has soared up search result pages for a whole range of target keywords. Since launching the new site, the number of unique visitors has risen markedly, representing an increase of some 150% year-on-year.
What we delivered
A website built on Naked Creativity’s Content Management System that is optimised for search engines, increasing the number of visitors and the amount of time they spend on the site. Since launching the updated website, the number of unique visitors has risen markedly, representing an increase of some 150% year-on-year.
“The single most outstanding benefit of our fantastic new website is the massive improvement in SEO. When typing KTP into Google this time last year, our site appeared half way down on the 22nd page; we are now on the first! For the leading KTP provider in the UK this is paramount. In addition our fresh, contemporary new look and easy navigation for the visitor has made a real difference to the numbers of people visiting and staying on the site.
Having already worked with Naked for a number of years they fully understood our requirements from the outset and designed the website to fit our needs exactly. We are delighted with their hard work, professionalism and creativity.”
