Brand identity design to showcase CEREBs green credentials

The Centre for Efficient and Renewable Energy in Buildings (CEREB) is a joint project by three universities, a unique resource for teaching and researching new renewable technologies for the built environment.

“The chosen logo was inspired by K2, the new landmark building at London South Bank University’s Southwark campus. K2 is at the forefront of building sustainability, so it seemed fitting for it to inspire the shape of the CEREB logo mark.”

Naked Creativity were asked by CEREB to develop their logo, and essentially produce a full brand identity for the organisation. A range of logo concepts were developed with three presented to the client showing how the identity could be applied to corporate documents and printed material.

“Naked Creativity worked with us on the Brand Development of our main website as well as a number of promotional boards and I can highly recommend them as a web site developer. They were always very responsive to work that needed to be done immediately and produced excellent work which was always of top quality. Can highly recommend them to any business that needs that extra assistance and attention to their specific needs.”

The chosen logo was then refined and different colour ways explored. It is important to ensure that the logo works in different formats, so the three colour ‘R’ and 3D logo mark were polished and simplified to ensure that they were readable and recognisable when displayed as a single colour.

Brand guidelines were also compiled by Naked Creativity for CEREB to ensure that the brand was correctly applied by external sources. Following on from this work, our team has been instrumental in developing a new CEREB website, and other graphic design projects in the run up to the opening of the centre.

What we delivered

An identity that showcases CEREBs green credentials.
